Music~Sweet Music

"Young men and women ... have a keen ear for music, and Satan knows what organs to excite to animate, engross, and charm the mind so that Christ is not desired.... Frivolous songs and the popular sheet music of the day seem congenial to their taste. The instruments of music have taken time which should have been devoted to prayer, Music when not abused, is a great blessing; but when put to a wrong use, it is a terrible curse. It excites, but does not impart that strength and courage which the Christian can find only at the throne of grace.... Satan is leading the young captive.... He is a skillful charmer, luring them on to perdition." {FLB 242.4}

 Do you think in heaven, there will be music that can be heard in dance halls, and other worldly places? No. It says in the Bible, that we will play harps and sing praises to Jesus!

"Musical entertainments which, if conducted properly, will do no harm, are often a source of evil.... Musical talent too often fosters pride and ambition for display, and singers have but little thought of the worship of God." {FLB 242.5}
"Let all take time to cultivate the voice so that God’s praise can be sung in clear, soft tones.... The ability to sing is the gift of God; let it be used to His glory." {FLB 242.6}
"Let us remember that our praises are supplemented by the choirs of the angelic hosts above." {FLB 242.7}
"Those who in heaven join with the angelic choir in their anthem of praise must learn on earth the song of heaven, the keynote of which is thanksgiving." {FLB 242.8}

"If we do not receive the religion of Christ by feeding upon the word of God, we shall not be entitled to an entrance into the city of God. Having lived on earthly food, having educated our tastes to love worldly things, we would not be fitted for the heavenly courts; we could not appreciate the pure, heavenly current that circulates in heaven. The voices of the angels and the music of their harps would not satisfy us. The science of heaven would be as an enigma to our minds. We need to hunger and thirst for the righteousness of Christ; we need to be molded and fashioned by the transforming influence of His grace, that we may be fitted for the society of heavenly angels."{AG 251.6}
"In order to be at home in heaven, we must have heaven enshrined in our hearts here." {AG 251.7}

I sure don't want to miss the sweet music in heaven. If we continue listening to worldly music, the music in heaven will not satisfy us...

My principle for my music selection:

If it has drum beat to it, I won't listen to it.
(I'm not talking about the drums that they have in marching music.)

Classical music is one of my favorites. Hymns are my absolute favorite...
Also the Military brass band is in my selection too.

Then what Music is good, you say?

I love and suggest the all of the CD's by the Nebblett's.
I also suggest Christian Berdahl's music.
Also I suggest looking at Sarah Draget's music.
Hyms are the best. Hyms are sweet music

What is in your music selection?
 Is it music that is praising to God?

Listen to music that is sweet to the ear...

And pray about it...

And ask yourself, what kind music will be in heaven?
